OVERVIEW OF THE BOOK

Uncle Tom's Cabin was a book written by Harriet Beecher Stowe in 1852. The story has two different perspectives: One follows a slave named Tom and the other follows the mother, Eliza, of someone sold with Tom. Tom's side of the story is about his life as a slave and how he has to make his decisions by taking his family's safety into consideration. Eliza's side of the story revolves around her and her son's escape from the South and eventually reuniting with her husband in the North.
